  • Direct Support Professional-Day Services
    BAIG Developmental Disabilities Services offers variety of programming in the Omaha Metro to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This includes community inclusion, activities, outings and more. The Direct Care Professional is responsible for providing compassionate care and assistance to clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities by working with each client, assessing, and meeting their needs with the goal of fostering a positive, encouraging environment. This position is full-time day hours, Monday-Friday

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ensuring all clients are treated with respect and dignity, recognizing individual needs, and encouraging independence.
    • Assist with and work to strengthen the individuals’ many daily living needs including but not limited to nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication, and socialization skills.
    • Develop a rapport with clients and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship.
    • Update client case notes daily of all activities.
    • Program Data collected daily, must be documented within 24 hours of services being provided

    We are looking for a responsible, caring, and compassionate The Job Coach Specialist /JCS) to join our growing team. The ideal job candidate will be highly dependable and have a passion for helping those with physical and/or mental disabilities live a more fulfilled and happy life. Working one-on-one with each client, you will assess his/her needs and tend to them accordingly with the goal of fostering a positive, encouraging environment.

    Responsibilities

    Under the supervision of the Day and Residential Manager, the incumbent’s role includes but it is not limited to:

    Day to day activities

    • The JCS, along with BAIG Administrator and with the individual’s team will develop job specific strategies and accommodations including transportation resources.
    • Help to ensure that the new employee is meeting and continues to meet work standards as set forth by the employer.
    • The BAIG Administrator and JCS will work with the individual towards decreasing coaching needs and achieving stabilization.
    • Maintain contact with the employer, providing job coaching as needed and assisting to build natural supports for job retention
    • After stabilization is achieved, the JCS will check on the individual after 6 months or a year.
    • Support the individual in their employment readiness and search.
    • Direct daily activities to teach and expand a person’s experiences and the skill development necessary for independence.
    • Other tasks as assigned by their manager or the agency
    • Be a compassionate, patient and always encouraging support professional.

    Abilities, skills, and Selection criteria

    Frequently required to stand and walk. Working Conditions: Both indoors and outdoors with varying temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Attention to detail, especially when adhering to specific protocols and rules while carefully following instructions to care for the needs of the client. Integrity to ensure clients feel safe and comfortable when tending to personal activities such as helping them bathe.     Residential Coordinator Job Description What is your role as a Residential Coordinator? The Residential Coordinator supports the current Shared Living Provider. This position provides monitoring and support to those in residential services to ensure Shared Living Providers deliver the highest level of quality services possible, while maintaining compliance with the Individual Service Program- ISP. Responsibilities:
      • Managing a caseload of 15 individuals, living in homes with Shared Living Providers, providing feedback, support, and guidance on caring for an individual residing in their home.
